For most of us, the image of Japanese bombers flying over Pearl Harbor is the stuff of dusty history.

However, for 97-year-old United States Navy veteran John Buchanan, it's personal.

He is one of the last living survivors of Pearl Harbor.

Buchanan was a teenage Navy mechanic on board the USS Cachelot, a diesel sub undergoing maintenance at the Hawaiian base on that fateful morning 76 years ago.
