Fiesta medals are not just fun trinkets to own and trade.
Some medals have a deeper purpose like raising money for nonprofit organizations or raising funds to be donated to a specific cause.
Here are a few medals with a purpose and from fun places to visit in San Antonio:
Goodwill: Medals are $8.00 apiece and can be purchased at any of their locations.
Tiago’s Cabo Grille: The medal has the restaurant’s logo on one side and the S.A. Food Bank’s on the other side. This is not the Food Bank’s official medal. You can purchase this medal for $8.00 each with all funds being donated to the S.A. Food Bank.
Salvation Army: Their medal commemorates their annual senior festival. It is available for purchase or trade. Pick one up at their offices on West Elmira. All proceeds benefit their senior programs.
Penguin - This medal highlights their Penguin Encounter Exhibit. You can purchase it for about $13.00.
Wave Breaker - Features their rescue coaster that opens this summer. This medal is free to pass members and will be distributed at their next pass member event.
San Antonio Zoo: Their medal celebrates big cats. Buy these at the zoo or at the train depot at Brackenridge Park.
Six Flags Fiesta Texas: The theme park is celebrating their 25 years of operation. It is only being offered to season pass members. Fiesta Texas is offering 1,000 of them to the first pass members through the gate on April 23rd. All of these medals can be purchased this weekend on the grounds of the festival near the Lions Club Pavilion.
KENS 5 will be giving away one of the medals highlighted. To win, go to the KENS 5 app and click on the “Medals Most Wanted Contest” for a chance to win one of the medals shown every morning on air.
Good luck… and VIVA FIESTA!!!
