A Taste of New Orleans
Sunken Gardens Theater, Brackenridge Park
5 p.m. - midnight (also Saturday and Sunday)
This is a huge venue set behind the gardens. Lots of open-air and fascinating Cajun and Creole food options like: gumbos, crayfish, etouffes, red beans and rice, boudin, andouille sausage, Cajun fried fish, desserts, and alligator tails. And in the foreground: New Orleans jazz!
Family-friendly with a play area for the kids including: face painting, a power slide, rock-wall climbing , bungee-bounce and balloons.
Bring your blankets and folding chairs and spend the entire evening here. Definitely worth the cost of admission!
