For the second year in a row, the Alamo City will make its presence known at Austin's mega festival, South by Southwest.

Choose San Antonio, a nonprofit organization that's dedicated to promoting the city helped land a spot for the city at SxSW.

"We'll be doing everything from highlighting the music scene here in San Antonio, the culinary developments we've been seeing in San Antonio, and the booming film industry," said Meghan Garza-Oswald, executive director of Choose San Antonio.

Leaders in the tech, real-estate, education, and culinary industries will represent San Antonio at the festival.

"There's been such wonderful development here. We really have a great downtown and some of the neighborhoods that are adjacent to downtown are full of art and culture and full of excitement," Mayor Ivy Taylor said.

A part of Choose San Antonio's mission is to make sure the city is recognized beyond the southwest.

"SXSW is a festival and conference that's home to more than 100 countries,” Garza-Oswald noted. “Last year, we were able to engage with over 65 countries and 100 some odd cities in 34 of the U.S. states. So, we're looking forward to spreading our message way past Austin.”
