Family fights back in northeast-side home invasion
Four robbers terrorized a family during a home invasion early Wednesday morning, but the family fought back.
Police say the homeowner in the 4300 block of Moana on the northeast side heard someone trying to break into her garage.
She tried yelling them away, but police say when that did not work, she, her son and his girlfriend went to confront the four.
The homeowner was able to disarm the robber with the gun after the man started making demands. Three of the robbers ran away from the house, leaving one behind in the garage.
Police say the homeowner, her son and his girlfriend wrestled the suspect to the ground and held him there until officers arrived.
The suspect faces three counts of aggravated robbery.
