Austin Highway head-on collision killed 5-year-old girl
SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Police Department said a 5-year-old girl was killed in a head-on collision on the city's northeast side Saturday evening.
Saturday around 6 p.m., three people were transported from the scene of a "multi-vehicle accident" at the intersection of Austin Highway and Corinne Drive with critical injuries.
SAPD said 5-year-old Lilliana Orona was a passenger in a Toyota Corolla traveling northeast on Austin Highway. A Toyota Camry pulled out on to Austin Highway from Ira Lee Road.
Another driver in a Porsche Cayenne traveling southwest on Austin Highway reportedly swerved left into the Corolla's lane to avoid hitting the Camry.
This resulted in a head-on collision between the Corolla and the Cayenne.
The driver of the Cayenne stayed at the scene.
Orona was pronounced dead at 8:48 p.m.Saturday at University Hospital.
No charges have been filed at this time.
