Deborah Knapp is an Emmy Award-winning anchor who has been inducted into the San Antonio Women's Hall of Fame.
She was honored in Washington D.C. with the FBI Director's Community Leadership Award for her years of community involvement and leadership in San Antonio.
Deborah anchors KENS 5 Eyewitness News First at Four and Eyewitness News at 5 p.m. She also regularly reports and has had numerous national and international assignments.
Education and community service are important to Deborah. In 1994, she established a scholarship at her alma mater, The University of Texas at Austin. Each year a San Antonio student who has demonstrated a commitment to community is awarded the Deborah Knapp Scholarship to help pay for his or her education.
In 1999, she helped launch the KENS 5 Excel Award, recognizing an outstanding public school teacher from every local district.
Active in the community, Deborah is currently serving on the boards of the Boy Scouts of America and The Old Spanish Missions, which restored and maintains San Antonio's historic Mission churches, now designated as a World Heritage Site.
Deborah is married and is the mother of two children and three grandchildren.
